What helps when taking things with black and white is that the subject matter is brought out so much more strongly. The interesting thing too is that when looking through the viewfinder, often a visual of the shot has to already be envisioned in the head. The laughlines and contours of people's faces stand out more prominently. The other important aspect are their eyes since without them the face would essentially lose half its ability to convey a feeling. Now imagine getting a portrait of someone shitting his guts out over a squatty potty. Very intense. Oh Maaaaaaaaaaaaarrrkkk. By Wallace, Phd. Film Incineration, Deg. Film Toasting (Hons)
